Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from a very tiny town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the United States. I hope you enjoy the projects/cards I have to offer you today.

Our theme this month is “HOLIDAY CATALOG SNEAK PEEK!”  That means that everyone blog you hop through today will feature new stamps sets, new designer series paper, new punches, new dies, new embellishments, and/or new paints… O – M – G!!!  The list of what these products could include is limitless.  And, as far as the new 2018 Holiday Catalog goes… what can I say – other than it is A-MAZING!  Just you wait!

But, for those of you who can’t wait… here are a couple projects I did last week for an event hosted Meg Loven, Julie Davison, and Mary Ellen Stiles.  It’s called Vacation Stamping School.  Each year, they go all out to showcase the new catalog.  It’s really a great event.  In fact, this year, our guest speaker was the one and only Shannon West!!!

Here she is learning about how to make sandwiches for the Big Shot.  She was pondering the possible sandwiches for using an embossing die.

And, here was my demonstration table…  It’ may look a little sparse… but it got the point across!

I was asked to demonstrate a technique or product suite.  So, I went to my new go-to technique.  It’s called stamping-in-the-round.  I originally talked about it on this blog post…

Stamper’s Dozen – Christmas in July

But, I have done a little more to the template… I added more squares 🙂

Anyway – you came here to see some cards, didn’t you…

This uses the new set PEACEFUL NOEL (147694 – page 29).  It also shows one of the patterns from the JOYOUS NOEL SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER (147816).  I used the stamping-in-the-round technique to stamp the branch images for the wreath.  I then added copper embossed berries and sentiment to match the paper.

Here is a close up!

I also used this technique on this card…

It uses the same stamp set and paper… but the sentiment is from Feathers & Frost (#147771 – page 30)

This branch image is larger so it only took four times to stamp a complete circle.  Here is the close up!

Well, that’s it from me today…

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!”

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Card & Project Kits

***  Well, imagine my embarrassment!  I can’t believe that I forgot about this blog hop.  I hope you got to enjoy the “shell” of my blog hop.  I am sure hoping that all the other ladies have come through in a very great way!

Things have been very, very hectic this summer as I am sure you can relate.  I started the summer with a mission trip to Haiti… then came back just to leave on a family vacation to Gettysburg, where I admit, I became a bit of a history nerd!  Then, we had Vacation Bible School at the church where I work which means long hours.  Now, I am getting ready to leave on a mission trip to India to end my summer!

I have honestly let Stampin’ Up!  slip by the way side for the summer.  Which, let me tell you.. that is a great thing about being a demonstrator for this great company.  I can let it slide and pick it back up as I need to in order fit with my life.  There are great things in the works this fall and I hope you will stick around to see them.

I leave in two days for India where I am going to be presenting a lesson on the biblical discipline of “Serving for the purpose of Godliness” at a small women’s conference. I am excited and nervous.  We will present our lessons once each in two different locations, a 16-hour train ride apart!  Plus, I am leading VBS for the children which consists of three lessons and crafts, games, and songs.  Lucky for them (and me) that I don’t have to lead the songs!  The children will be happy for that! LOL  SO, if you wouldn’t mind saying a prayer for me and my other team members – there are 5 women total and on lonely male Pastor who has to deal with us!

I look forward to sharing about my trip when I return by featuring some new great stuff from the holiday catalog!!!  In the mean time, take a look at what the rest of the ladies have done featuring kits or all sorts!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop – Christmas in July!

Welcome to this month’s episode of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. This is one hop that I look forward to each month because the projects are always over-the-top wonderful! I am sure this month will be as well.

Our theme this month is a CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!

I mean, really!  Who can think about Christmas when it’s 112 degrees outside.  I guess this girl can.  After all, Christmas will be here before you know… we all know that!  Time is just flying by this summer!  In fact, it flew by so fast these past couple weeks, that I am really a few hours late in posting this!  Oops!  Hope it is worth the wait!

This card was made using the Rooted in Nature stamp set.  I used Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green, and Shaded Spruce for the colors.  Added a couple Red Rhinestones and a Red Solid Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set and is embossed in white.

Now, how did I do that perfect circle wreath?

It’s a technique called Stamping-in-the-Round.

Let’s look at it up close…

This technique uses the Stamparatus, Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp positioning tool. It was first introduced to me at a team meeting… one of the many great benefits of being a demonstrator.

This is the mat that I used to create it.  You simply position your stamp, then each time you stamp it, turn the cardstock 1/4 turn and stamp again.  You do that 8-times.

You can right click and save this to print.  Make sure when you print that the largest blue square measures 4″.  The squares then decrease 1/4″ from there… Just cut your cardstock to that size!  Hope that makes a little bit of sense.

Have fun hoping along!

Until next time…  keep it simple, Stampers!

RemARKably Created Blog Tour – Color Me Happy!

Welcome to Keep It Simple, Stampers! My name is Joanne Cantrell and I am from a tiny town in the middle of Southernmost Illinois in the middle of the United States.

Our theme for this month is COLOR ME HAPPY! That means each blog you visit during this hop will feature projects showcasing one or more of the new and/or returning colors in the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.

In an effort to stay on trend, Stampin’ Up!© did a complete revamp of their color selections.  They bought back some old favorites, they brought in some new ones, the moved colors around between color families, etc.

Here are the new color families

And, here are the current In Colors..

My absolute favorite color is BLUE!  I love all shades and varieties of blue!  And, my favorite color scheme of all time is Yellow and Blue…  What can I say.. Stampin Up!© must have known that because two of the new In Colors are Pineapple Punch (yellow) and Blueberry Bushel (blue)!

Here is what I have don’t with those colors…

This is a great card for the summer time.  It’s so bright and cheery!

Isn’t that yellow just gorgeous!  It’s so bright and vibrant!

I will say that you may have to be careful what you stamp with that yellow… but it is still a great card, if I do say so myself!

But, I love the BLUEBERRY BUSHEL even more.  It can definitely stand by itself!

The stamp set I used here is ENJOY LIFE.  It has great silhouettes in it.  I think this will become one of my new favorites!

Of course… that blue is much brighter than I can capture on camera…you just really have to see it in person!

The monochromatic feel of the card was down just by simply stamping the image a couple times before inking it up again!

Well, that is what I have to offer you today!  Hop along and see what everyone else has been up to!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Birthday Surprise

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from a very tiny town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the United States. I hope you enjoy the projects/cards I have to offer you today.

Our theme this month is BIRTHDAY SURPRISE! It should come as no surprise that Stampin’ Up© offers a plethora of stamps just perfect for birthdays…  all ages, all genders, all personalities… it’s all here for everyone.

Well, with it’s bold images and perfect sayings, it is no wonder that BEAUTIFUL DAY (145912/145915) is fast becoming one of my favorite sets of all times.

I decided I wanted to do something a little different so I went with a corner fold card.  It’s can be a little tricky to do, but there are several tutorials to be found.

I choose Pool Party, Fresh Fig, and Daffodil Delight for my color scheme.

(Sorry for the blurry photo…)

Between the flower and the butterfly, it was really hard to decide which to do on this card.  But, once I made the decision I stamped it with Fresh Fig and used the Dark and Light Daffodil Delight Blends to color it in.

I then stamped the sentiment from the set on to a strip and cut it out as a banner.  A little piece of the Fresh Fig behind it sets it off just a enough.

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you and brightened your day. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. Please see the list below and hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!

What I came up with is pretty darn cute, if I do say so myself!

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Annual Catalog Sneak Peek

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from a very tiny town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the United States. I hope you enjoy the projects/cards I have to offer you today.

Our theme this month is NEW CATALOG SNEAK PEEK!  I just love a new catalog.  And, this one is no exception.  There are so many great new items.. and the new colors… Oh My!!!!

As a church secretary, I instantly fell in love with the STAINED GLASS bundle. The possibilities are endless.  Those Thinlits can be used to create so many different things.  But, the sentiments in the set are just so stunning.  They are bold and can stand alone… Don’t you think!

The set reminds me on an old Medieval church with all of it’s pretty stain glass windows – which is probably the whole thought behind the set.  But, those churches also have big, thick, heavy wood doors.  So, I went with that look.  I achieved it by inking up my Pinewood Planks embossing folder with Early Espresso and running it through my big shot.  That step really makes the wood grain stand out a bit more.

I added the bold sentiment and used Blends to color the rose.  A little of the new Velvet Ribbon and you have a quick and easy card!

So, one of the benefits of being a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator is that you are able to order the new items before our customers can.  If that isn’t worth it right there… may be the discount helps a little.  If you are interested in joining my team to get your hands on the new items first, just click here…

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop – Color Challenge

Welcome to this month’s episode of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop! You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. This is one hop that I look forward to each month because the projects are always over-the-top wonderful! I am sure this month will be as well.

Our theme this month is a COLOR CHALLENGE!

Truth be told, I have never done a color challenge so to say.. but there are often times when I have had a few colors in my mind that I wanted to use and had to figure out how to make them work together, so that is essentially the same thing, right!?!

Here are the colors we are working with…

Let’s take a look at what I have done with this combo, shall we?

I used one of my favorite stamp sets, Swirly Bird, and the coordinating Switly Scribbles Thinking dies, to create the flowers. The sentiment is from the new Love What You Do stamp set.  It was embossed onto the Marina Mist cardstock which I then cut with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  Tying a bit of the retiring Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon added that little extra touch that was needed.

Well, that’s it from me this go around… Thanks for stopping by but now it’s time to hop along!

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Focus on Tools

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. I hail from a tiny town in the middle of the United States.

This month’s theme is TOOLS.  Stampin’ Up!© has so many great tools to choose from, I really had a hard time deciding.  In the end, I decided to highlight the one tool that most of you use every day!

The STAMPIN’ TRIMMER!

This poor little guy is often used and abused and always taken advantage of!  But, with a little love and TLC (tender loving care!), it can be the greatest weapon in your Stampin’ Up!© tool arsenal!

Let’s see what Stampin’ Up!© had to say about it during it’s debut in 2012.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BPZd6PZN0Y

Now that you know what we are dealing with… a simple, basic cutting tool that is a go-to tool for all occasions.  Whoopdey-do!

But wait… there’s more!

Lets test this puppy to it’s limit!  What can this trimmer do?

It can do layers…

It can do pleats…

It can do fun folds…

Oh boy, can it do fun folds…

What?  Oh, just another fun fold!!!  Can you tell I like the fun folds?

I will say this was my first try at a Twist & Pop card.  I used the a video tutorial by Rajni to come up with this card.  It’s a big larger than your normal card, so it will need a special envelope and additional postage if you are mailing.

Oh yeah, it can do boxes too!

The projects you can do with the Stampin’ Up!© are only limited by your imagination!

(All these projects used the Bubble Over Stamp Set, which will be sticking around in the nne catalog, and Bubble & Fizz Designer Series Paper, which is only available as supplies last).  The Bee card also uses Dragonfly Dreams.

And, don’t forget that TLC I mentioned early.  Frenchie Martin has an excellent video about how to care for your Trimmer…  be sure to check it out!

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting (your name). Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!”
