Welcome to this month’s edition of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop.
Our theme this month is Hot Summer Nights – because boy howdy, they sure have been around here!
Unfortunately, I misunderstood the assignment a little. I had in mind Hot Summer Days so that’s what I created my cards for.
With that theme, I started thinking about what we like to do on summer weekends. It usually involves a Farmer’s Market, a flea market, or a craft/vendor fair of some kind or another. That got me thinking about what I always buy from such places… Local Honey!
I have more different honeys that is probably natural. I would post a picture of my “collection” but it would only prove that I hoard honey like they will never make anymore! If you are a Northeasterner and have been to Sticky Situations… you might understand. If not, look it up! LOL
Well, back on track!
Local honey… so that made me think of BEES!
Are you following?
Here’s what I came up with!
Same basic card concept with two completely different looking cards. Both of them feature the BEE MY VALENTINE PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET (#162547) and use the BEE BUILDER PUNCH (#162553).
For this one, I used a Flirty Flamingo card base in portrait mode. The flower stems are printed in Lemon Lime Twist and the flowers are in Flirty Flamingo. I just love that these colors made it back into the line up! The bee’s stripes, his trail, and the sentiment were all stamped using Memento. His body is in Crushed Curry.
This card was done with a Crushed Curry card base in landscape. I used Pecan Pie ink for this card with only the bee’s body in a different color (Crushed Curry).
These two cards a great for casual stampers and provide a year-round use for what might be only be looked at as a Valentine’s Day set.
Well, that’s all I have for you today. Hop along…
Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!
🙂 Joanne
