Welcome to this month’s edition of the Stamper’s Dozen Monthly Blog Hop. This month we are all featuring items that will be retireing at the end of the month.
This is the time in the Stampin’ Up! year that we all love but we all dread. We are all excited about the lovely new items in the in coming 2020-2021 Annual Catalog… but then we are mourning the loss of all the great items that are saying goodbye.
For me, it’s a time that I go through my entire stash and pull out all the stuff that is not in the new catalog. And, I am learning, there are are lot of stamp sets that have not seen ink. Are you that same way?
Well, today, I finally put some ink to the Heartland Stamp Set.
This stamp set is great because you don’t have to get fancy with it to make a great card. I used it to make three sets of cards – each with a varying degrees of simple stamping.
These three cards use each image from the set (one on each card) as well as the sentiment. The colors used are Real Red, Garden Green, and Night of Navy. For this set, the images and sentiment were stamped on to a Whisper White layer and adhered to the card base in the same color as the ink.
Here is the next set. It uses the same colors, but has an added layer. I love how easy these cards are to make but they look so nice. This just goes to prove it a card doesn’t have to be elaborate to be beautiful.
In this final set, I added some die cutting and embossing. I used the an oval and a circle from the Stitched Shapes dies and a rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the images and sentiments after I stamped them. I used the Pinewood Plank embossing folder to add the texture to the background layer. And, I used Dimensionals to everything up. Still a simple card, but the texture and die-cutting adds just enough interest without going overboard.
Here is a shot of all nine cards that were created. You can click on them to get a closer look.
Now, it’s time to see what other items you just have to have before they are Going… Going… Gone…
