Who would have thunk it?
Have you seen those beautiful succulents that have been popping up all over Pinterest and Facebook?
Here is an array of some real succulents that I found via Bing. I’m not sure what types they are but some are Sempervivum – also know as Hens and Chickens plants.
But, did you realize you can create your own in no time at all. And, what’s even better about them is that they take even less water then these already drought-resistant sun loving plants. And, let’s face it.. we all know someone who is a real plant Killer!
Yes, I am one of those. Here is a picture of a long dead cactus garden. And don’t ask me why I have kept it.
But look at it now… I just tossed a couple handmade succulents on top of the dead stuff and brought it back to life!
So, I have been working on succulents for the upcoming craft fair that is now only 4 days away…
What do you think? (These are before I used Tombow to glue them together!
Are you asking how I did these? Simple…
Some paper, a big shot, the succulent dies, some ink, and a sponge.
Yep… that’s it!
I used the two sets of coordinating dies that are within the Oh So Succulent Thinlits set.
So, the paper colors I used were Mint Macaron, Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, and Rich Razzleberry. Ink colors were Crumb Cake, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry. On the purple, I also added a little White Craft Ink for the look I wanted but it not really needed.
Here is my work in progress…
It is a little tedious, but so worth the end product. And, speaking of end products…
Of course… that’s not quite the end. I will add some little signs and maybe ribbon and tags.. .who knows. But, these are the first things that are about finished for the craft fair.
Now, to finish making the 400+ cards and other 3D items! Time is running out!!!
Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!
