Welcome to this month’s installment of the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop where this small group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the globe gather to give you a bunch of inspiration using ink (and paper and stamps, too!). I really hope you are able to find something that spurs you on!
You may have gathered from the title of my blog that this month’s theme is “NEW ANNUAL CATALOG SNEAK PEEK!” I am sure that you have seen a few things here and there form other demonstrators. Once we get our hands on anything new, we are eager to share it with you. And, the products from this catalog are no different.
One of the set that I am really excited about in this new catalog is Daisy Lane. It’s like a sister set to the Delightful Daisy set that came out last year. It even has a new coordinating punch – the Medium Daisy Punch. I can’t wait to get that.
So, this Daisy Lane set offers a daisy with a little more detail as well as images from the side and a stem. There are also a couple new sentiments in a beautiful font.
I took a cue from Julie DiMatteo. She created a very simple card using this set. I just changed the colors a bit…
Here is my version…
I used the one of the new 2019-2021 In Colors – Purple Posey. It’s a perfect light purple. The ink is Gorgeous Grape for the flower, stem, and sentiments. I used the sponge dauber to apply Daffodil Delight ink to the center of the flower.
To give a little more bulk to the flower, I stamped and punched three layers. I used Tombow Multi-purpose glue to attach them all together. Then I used a Dimensional to lift of the card.
Sorry, I don’t have a close up for you. But here is the inside.
I did CASE the inside from someone but for the life of me I can’t remember who. And, don’t forget to Gussy up your envelope too. No naked envelopes allowed!

It’s just about time for a new catalog to come out which make me happy! The new products are so great!
Yet, in order to make room for all the great new products, we have to say goodbye to some of our old favorites. So… this is the last chance you have to get them. That makes me sad.
For this hop, I have decided to feature a couple products for one last hoorah!

Here is a photo of what I hope to inspire you with today! If you joined my Live and Inkin’ Facebook Live last week, or watched the replay, you saw me create these cards.
I used a ONE SHEET WONDER template for these cards. It was originally created by Kathy Roney who has inspired several others with it. A one sheet wonder is a great technique to easily create multiple cards in a relatively short amount of time. Plus, it’s a great way to use up any Designer Series Paper (aka DSP). #loveitchopit
Here is the template. You will notice that I have converted everything to metric as well. Hopefully with will make it easier for y’all that are outside the US.
This template makes 6 cards. I have color coded the template as well as the sketches to help match things up. If you are anything like me, you will pay more attention to the colors then to the dimensions given. 😉
These are all the basic sketches that I used for this set of cards. Most are what Kathy created, a few are what others used.
Now, let’s take a look at each card and it’s sketches up close…
Card #1: I wrapped the ribbon around the layer like a present and tied it in a bow.
Card #2: I wrapped a length of ribbon around the card front and adhered it where it would be hidden by the DSP layer using glue dots. Then, I tied a bow around the layer but did not slide it into position over the other ribbon until AFTER it was attached to the card front using Dimensionals.
Card #3: Yes, I put the layers on the wrong side… Maybe it was in on purpose to show the flexibility of the sketch. Maybe it was really to cover up an inky mistake . You’ll never know (but if you guessed the latter, you are probably not wrong! Lol)
To wrap ribbon around a card front in this direction, VERY CAREFULLY use your (open) Snips to cut a small slice along the fold of the opened card front. The slit should be positioned where you want the ribbon to lay and just long enough to slip the ribbon through. You may need to use your piercing tool or your snips to help carefully push the ribbon through.
Card #4: Nothing too fancy here. Just attached a simple bow to the DSP layer with a glue dot!
Card #5: Notice the ribbon is not wrapped around anything. I tied a bow with one very long tail. Next, I strategically placed the Dimensionals on the back of the DSP. Then I held the long tail against the DSP layer as I attached it. I used a glue dot to attach the knot of the bow to the card front and one at the edge of the card front to hold the long tail in place.
And, Card #6: I ran SNAIL along the back of the too layer and pressed the ribbon on it. I then used Dimensions to pop it up from the card front. As far as placing the diamonds in the right spot… I place the middle one first, even if I don’t adhere it. You will probably want that one in the center!
Just a few more tips and tricks that I used…
First of all, “dry fit” everything. I am a form believer of this! Cut your pieces then lay everything out as it will go on the card BEFORE you stamp anything… and more importantly, before you use any adhesive. I actually printed the graphic of all the sketches on an 11″ x 17″ piece of paper so I could lay them out on it.

This month’s theme for the Blog Hop is ENCOURGEMENT.
Everyone needs a little love everyone now and again. Sending a handmade card is a great expression of love!
But… is it just me, or is it sometimes hard to come up with something to show that special man in your life just how much he amazes you?
Well, my poor husband has had to put up with me which I am sure is not an easy thing to do! In my eyes, that makes him pretty much the most amazing man in the whole world! I should know.. I have had to live with me for my whole life! LOL I’m sure he has spent the last 22 years shrugging his shoulders and rolling his eyes. Luckily he loves me enough to let me be me. So, I thought I should at least make him a card… right!?! It’s the least I could do. I make cards constantly. Surely I can make him one for a change!
So, here is the official view of the card.
Plain and simple. That is what he is all about!
For this card, I went with a very masculine, outdoorsy theme. I used Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake Cardstock to create the layers. I used the largest two dies from the Stitched Rectangle dies for those layers. Then, for the sentiment layer, I used the largest of the smallest.
Say what?
When you receive the dies, they come all nice and neat on the backing paper. They are in two groups… a group of larger dies and a group of smaller dies – longer thinner rectangles. That’s where that sentiment was cut from. Oh… I did stamp it before I cut it.
The sentiment is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. This is the new Lovely as a Tree, which is unfortunately retiring at the end of the month when the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog comes out. I stamped it in Early Espresso ink.
Let’s see that close up…
I used the leave dies from the Nature’s Roots Dies to create the leaves. I attached them with glue dots. Then I used a glue dot to attach the little silver leaf from the Leaves Trinkets. And, to finish off the look, I tied a bow using the Crumb Cake Twine from the Nature’s Twine pack.
Oh… did you notice that little stitching around bottom layer – on the card base. I just used a journaling pen to create that. It’s not as perfect as the die… but it provided that little extra touch – as does that leaf up in the corner. 🙂

I am always grateful. The fact that I get to wake up, eat breakfast with my daughter who I love… Go to work at a job that I love with people that I love… Come home to see my wonderfully patient husband who I love… And maybe talk to my sons who I love… Then, I get to go up to my craft room and create inspiring projects for you hoppers that I love!
Without love, you really can’t understand what gratitude is. And, there is even more to be thankful for… The new 2019-2021 In Colors!!!

So, what better way to show my gratitude to Stampin’ Up! then to show you a great project I created using two of the new colors…
What… I know, right!!! Are these not simply the best?
This card uses the new Rococo Rose and Seaside Spray… And a little Very Vanilla just for fun!
If you are thinking that the Painted Harvest Photopolymer Stamp Set is just for the fall, you are so wrong. As I learned from Yami Mohr, the color combinations are limitless. I saw Yami had a blue and pink combo, so I thought, “Why not?”.
What do you think? Are you grateful that I showed you this? I am grateful the I found Yami’s wonderful card to CASE. And I would be so very grateful if you wanted to CASE it as well. 🙂

See that little stitching effect? I used the Stitched Rectangle dies that are being carried over into the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. If you would like your very own copy of it… Just drop me an email and I will get one off in the mail to you as soon as they arrive!
And, we can’t forget the inside…
Don’t look at it too closely or you will see that I messed up the flower in the corner. But, in my defense… I am sure you also haven’t used this set in months. So I forgot how to create the look. Haha! It is just the two-step stamping… But I thought it was so much harder! I have no idea what I was thinking! 😂
Well, I guess now I will give my tips to make that little stitching.
First… Measure.
Well, first you need to cut a Very Vanilla and Seaside Spray layer. They are 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Then you need to measure. I measured up from the bottom and made a tiny little mark with a pencil of the edge.
Next, I slipped the layer into the largest rectangle die like shown below…
See how the die is lined up on this marks… But, you have to be very careful with you cut it. You only have to cut the one part. So you have to put it on the die cut machine the right way …
You only have to roll that one part in then right back out. If you roll the whole platform through, you will emboss the other end of the cardstock. And, no… I didn’t learn from experience! Lol. I realized that as I was rolling it though and stopped just in time! Heeheehee!
Of course, you don’t need to use the dies at all, you can just cut it at an angle and get the second effect!

Hello and welcome to this month’s installment of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop! I am so excited you are here!
You are currently stopped at Joanne Cantrell. I hail from a tiny town in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the United States.
So, our theme for this month is a color challenge. Ugh! I am not good at these… but that won’t stop me from trying! The colors we are being challenged to use are Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green and Grapefruit Grove. Perfect colors for spring! They just give you happy feels! Can you not feel the sun just radiating off of them?
So, lets see what I was able to come up with using these colors…
Here is the first one…
The black background layer really makes the colors pop! After I adhered the strips to the layer, I stamped the starburst image from Birthday Backgrounds stamp set using Versark ink. This made it easy to get the desired effect without having to clean the stamp between ink colors!
The sentiment is from the Better Together stamp set. I tied it all up with a little of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.
And, here is a sneak peek of the inside!
The next card…
Everyone loves a bouquet of balloon for their birthday. The sentiment is from the Birthday Banners.
I used the Balloon Bouquet punch and punched out a few balloons. For that special touch, I used the White Stampin’ Chalk Marker to add the reflection.
The strings were unraveled Grapefruit Grove threads from the Nature’s Twine pack. If you untwist it, you get three strands. If you untwist each of those, you get three more… :).
I had a couple extra balloons to put in the inside.
And, there’s this one…
I just love the Bubble Over bundle. Which knew this set would be perfect for this color challenge! Well obviously I did!!!
I cut the bottles from vellum and sponged the color on the backs.
And then I added a bunch more bubbles to the inside!!!
Oh… wait… Here is one more!
Yes siree… That is the Jar of Love stamp set and the Every Jars dies! Thank you for asking!
A note on the water… I used Balmy Blue and the water image stamp. I stamped on the back of the vellum. But, then I didn’t think it was dark enough. I decided to also stamp the water directly on to the card base. I think it helps give the illusion that the stems are in water, don’t you!?!
Don’t forget the inside… It’s basic, but enough to offset the special note you will write inside!
So, surprisingly enough, this color scheme was actually really easy to work it. I had fun with this and I hope it’s inspiring!
I guess it’s time to go see what the other ladies have done with these colors…
You may have noticed that there aren’t quite a dozen of us this time around. We all live very busy lives that include births, deaths, injuries, jobs, new Stampin’ Up! Being a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator means that I get to have fun teaching people about combining paper, ink, and rubber stamps to make beautiful one-of-a-kind memories for their family, friends, and others.
As a crafter, people come to me for various needs they have. The project I am going to show you was created for a friend. She needed a special card to give a bride that allowed her to host her Bridal Shower.
Here is the card that I created for her. I looked at several different cards on Pinterest and merged them together to create this for her!
I wanted something with a little sparkle and a little bling, but not knowing the Bride’s color scheme or personality, I wanted to stay sort of neutral. I opted for Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Pool Party, and Champagne Foil.
Here is the close up…
I used lots of different framelit sets to get the perfect layering. I used the Dark Crumb Cake Blends and the Dark Pool Party Blends to color the Pearls to add the bling. And, that sparkly Shimmer Ribbon really set it off.
The Better Together stamp set is perfect because it has the perfect pairings of sentiments for the outside nad the inside of the card. The flowers in the backgrounds are from the Artistic Impressions stamp set and stamped in Pool Party.
And, don’t forget about the envelope… NO NAKED ENVELOPES!!! I just used the same stamp to stamp on the front left corner and the back flap.

So, it’s been a while since I have done a blog post just to do a blog post, hasn’t it!
Well, since today is the first day of the week and the first day of the month… I thought it is the perfect day just to start posting more regularly to show you other things I have been working one.
For several months, I have been participating in tutorial group with other Stampin’ up!® demonstrators. By participating in this group, I am able to offer my customers tutorials that include stamp sets that I may not own.
In March, our theme was Easter/Seasonal.
This is the project that I submitted.

It was inspired by Judy Gelniak. It features the Varied Vases bundle from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. My color scheme was a simple two-color scheme with Lemon Lime Twist and Whisper White.

In the tutorial, I had two tips that help with stamping the vases so that they can be punched out easily.
The first tip is about how to line up the stamps on one block so that they can be stamped at one time then punched at one time. Here are the graphics I included in the tutorial about row to line the stamps up…
I punched out a template and lined up the photopolymer stamps using it.
My second tip was about how to get the flowers on that vase in the center. You’ll have to download the tutorial for that.
What’s great about having a tutorial in your hands? Well, it makes it easier to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) when you have the dimensions the person used. It’s like having the blue print.
So, here is a second card I made using the tutorial but a different color scheme.
I just love that Gingham Ribbon. I am going to be sad if it is retiring at the end of May :(.
And, it’s close up…
I used that same technique with the flowery vase, but added the outline stamp to bring the other two vases together.
And, you can’t forget the inside… or the envelope.
I switched up this inside a little by not included the strip of DSP at the bottom but stamping the flowers instead.
I just love to write tutorials. It is my way of teaching y’all how to make the cards when you can’t attend one of my classes.

Our theme for this month is Easter or Seasonal. I am just guessing that the “season” is spring… But that’s because it is spring here in the United States. Because I am a terrible global citizen, I have no idea what season it is in the other corner of the world… Is it fall? 🤔. Hmmmm. Maybe it’s a good thing I chose to go with Easter! 😁
So, without further ado, here are my cards for this month.
My basic color scheme for this set is Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape. And, the only stamp set used was His Grace Cling Stamp Set found in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.
Let’s look at the first card. This card is perfect for the new or beginning Stamper.
This is just a simple ink and paper card. I stamped the floral images free hand. They are pretty easy to line up and fit together we’ll without overlapping. I then stamped the sentiment in the center.
I added some Mini Stripe Ribbon in Gorgeous Grape and tied it in a basic knot. I also added the purple (techiqually, Highland Heather) sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins at each little curly-que.
This next card is perfect for the casual stamper who may have a little more in way of supplies and experience.
I know… it really doesn’t look like something your casual crafter could do, but it really doesn’t take any tools other than a pair of Paper Snips and a Blender Pen. Seriously!
I stamped the floral images in Gorgeous Grape on a piece of Highland Heather. Then, I used my Paper Snips to “fussy cut” the inside out. I used Stampin’ Write Markers in Old Olive and Gorgeous Grape to color the sentiment before stamping it. I placed the Highland Heather layer over the white layer so the sentiment would be positioned correctly-er.
I stamped the flowers and dove using the markers to get the two different colors. For the flowers, I used a Blender Pen and ink in the stamp pad lid to add color. Then, I used my snips to cute them out.
A few Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots and some Snail adhered all the layers together. A tiny little bow and a some of the iridescent sequins from the same pack I used before make the card just pop!
And, finally… Here is a card for the avid stamper. You know the type… They have everything. So, this card uses the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and some dies (because why own a Big Shot if you don’t use any dies, right!)
I mean, it’s really not any fancier than the last card. I did use different measurements for the layer spacing as well as the Layering Circle dies. But that’s really all it is. If you don’t own a Big Shot, let me know and I can hook you up!!!
I used the same ribbon and the purple sequins to add that extra touch!

This month is all about coordination. If you have known me for a while, you know that I am not very coordinated at all. I have many bumps and bruises and scars to show it.
Stampin’ Up!™ has taken the guesswork out of coordination by offering several new products that coordinate perfectly with the current Sale-a-Bration items. But, here’s the deal… you have to act quick! These things are flying off the shelf! Check out what is offered by clicking the graphic or link below.
The products I chose to coordinate were the Lasting Lily Photopolymer Stamp Set from the first release Sale-a-Bration items and the Lily Framelits from the Sale-a-Bration Coordination items.
So, let’s see just how coordinated I was…
Well… not to bad if I do say so myself! If they look a little familiar, you may have seen something very similar. For these cards, I was inspired by Jaimie Babarczy, Sally Shaw, Jan Clothier, Joyce Whitman, and the Sale-a-Bration catalog itself!

In my mind, I thought… surely I can make a masculine sympathy card using lilies. Right? Guys like flowers, don’t they? I mean, I uncle would always saw he “didn’t want no ‘poseys’ at his funeral!” And, you know what… I sent a plant instead with a lone little flower in it just because I could! LOL But, I am sure my uncle was not a normal guy. I know my husband likes flowers. I mean, I wouldn’t rush out and buy him a bouquet or anything, but he likes them in the house. Oh… sorry… So, I decided to go with the color scheme that Jaimie used.
Let’s take a look at each one to see what I did…
For this card, I stamped and cut the lilies. Then, I cut a hole in the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper using one of the bigger dies from the Layering Circle Framelits – be sure to save that circle for something fun! I used Memento Ink to stamp the sentiment directly onto the DSP.
My concern with this card was wrapping the Linen Thread around the DSP. The paper is thinner than cardstock and I didn’t want it to rip it or cut into it. So, I actually used my Paper Snips to carefully slice a small hole along the edge of the card after I had everything else attached to the card front. Then, I used the Take You Pick Tool’s stylus end to help push the thread through the small hole each time I wrapped it around the card front. This also added a little texture to that inside space that rarely has anything.
Here is the next one…
Just some very simple layering here using standard 1/4″ layering offsets. The sentiment was cut using one of the dies that comes in the Lily Framelits set. Be sure to stamp then cut with this one because that sentiment just barely fits in it.
I used the new Old Olive Linen Thread that is part of the Needlework Nook Suite in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. I also glued the flower in the very back directly to the Very Vanilla layer to add a different dimension.
And now this one…
On this card, I really let the flowers do all the work. But, I didn’t like the way that they came together at the bottom, so I used a scrap of the DSP to cover it. I ran a couple strips of SNAIL along the edge of the back then looped the Linen Thread around to create that edging along it.
For the sentiment, I punched out two banners using the Duet Banner Punch. Then, I placed the banner on my table, covered with a clear block, and used it as a guide to help me get the proper curve in the sentiment. That’s what I love about the photopolymer stamps, you can bend them to make the sentiments go right where you want them. Sometimes I use the Take Your Pick Tool to help he move it. Once you stamp the sentiment, just snip the ends of that banner off and use Dimensionals to attach it to the bottom banner.
And now the last one…
I love the offset layers on this card. I did think I needed a little border of each color, so I didn’t line up the edges exactly along the top and right side. I also sponged some Crumb Cake ink on to the Very Vanilla layer.
The blue pearls were made by coloring the Pearl Basic Jewels with the Dark Balmy Blue Blends marker. be sure to do this while they are still attached to the backing sheet and give them a second or more to dry so you don’t get in on your fingers. But, you know what… by this point, you probably have ink on them already.. so just throw caution to the wind! LOL In hindsight, I probably wouldn’t have trimmer off the bottoms of the stems but would have left them hanging below that Very Vanilla layer.
Before I go, I have a couple tips for you.
Getting a good image with the “Distinktive” stamps can be challenging. I usually get too much ink on them and the detail can’t come through. One of the ladies that inspired these cards posted a very helpful tip. Use a Sponge Dauber to ink up the stamp. That way, you can control the ink better. And, as you can tell from these cards… it works fairly well! These are the best images I have ever gotten using these types of stamps.
And, my other tip is to line up the stem stamps using the framelits. This is what I am talking about…
Notice how I went through and stamped a bunch of stems, then when I went to cut them out, the frames didn’t match them very well. I thought I was going crazy.. so I put the stamp into the die to see if it was just me – did I bend them when I put them on the block. I had not, so I decided to use the framelit as a guide when I put in on the block. This made sure the stamp would match the die a lot better.
All -in-all, they didn’t turn out very masculine. But, they aren’t too shabby… as I toot my own horn… 🙂

Today it is finally bright and sunny and a little warm-ish. So, that makes me think that Spring may actually arrive sometime this year. With all the cold and rain, it was really in doubt! So, this put me in the mood for flowers.
This first card, I CASE’d from Leanne Miller. Why re-invent the wheel every time you want to create something. I always say that I have not had an original idea since the invention of Pinterest! Even when I think I have made something completely on my own, it has most likely been inspired by the beautiful creations of others. So, thanks for the inspiration, Leanne!

Isn’t that just beautiful… you know aside from the fact that my ink pads could probably use a little re-inking! I used the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper to decide my color scheme. I with with Night of Navy, Call Me Clover, and Calypso Coral. I have included the complete supply list below. The flower image was pieced together from the Blooms by Blooms stamp set and the sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set.
And, don’t forget the inside. More often than not, I have no clue what to put on the inside. So, I just use DSP or images when there is no clear “inside” sentiment to go with the one on the outside.
It leaves plenty of room for a quick little note to tell the recipient how much you adore them!
My next card actually used that Incredible Like You stamp set as well. It really is a very versatile set. So, here is a completely different card… But not so very different from the card that was created by Tami White! Here is another CASE’d card.
I picked which color of the wonderful Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper I wanted to use first, which is really quite hard as they are all beautiful! My color scheme here is Lemon Lime Twist, Garden Green, and Lovely Lipstick. The lighter color for the flower and the stem were created by inking up the stamp and stamping onto a piece of scrap paper off before I stamped the layer. This technique provides the subtly needed for this type of two-step stamp. The lines on the envelope are one of the stamps in the stamp set. The photopolymer makes it easy to line them up.
A quick and simple inside that really pops by using the same basic layer dimensions as the front of the card. That little tiny flower really dresses it up!
