{"id":1446,"date":"2017-02-09T15:20:01","date_gmt":"2017-02-09T15:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/keepitsimplestampers.com\/?p=1446"},"modified":"2017-02-09T15:20:01","modified_gmt":"2017-02-09T15:20:01","slug":"card-sketch-02","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/keepitsimplestampers.com\/?p=1446","title":{"rendered":"Card Sketch #02"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So, here I am making good on my promise to post at least one card sketch every week.\u00a0 I think I will post them on Thursdays, just so that you know when to come back&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Wait, on second thought, I won&#8217;t tell you when I am going to post them.\u00a0 Then you have to come back every day.\u00a0 Which you already do.. .right!?!<\/p>\n<p>Anywho&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Here is the sketch&#8230;\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1450\" src=\"https:\/\/keepitsimplestampers.files.wordpress.com\/2017\/02\/cs-002.jpg\" alt=\"CS 002.jpg\" width=\"1650\" height=\"1275\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In my mind, I can see using a DSP in the background (5-1\/2&#8243; x 4-1\/4&#8243;)<\/p>\n<p>Or, maybe as the Long Layer 2&#8230;\u00a0 then you could put the sentiment on a banner and put over the bottom of the Small Layer.<\/p>\n<p>Or&#8230;\u00a0 what about&#8230; on the landscape card&#8230; adding some ribbon with a bow.\u00a0 You could then hang the sentiment from that.<\/p>\n<p>The possibilities are endless.. but just some tips:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always include some type of sentiment on the outside.\u00a0 In a very rare instance, will I ever not put some type of wording on the outside.\u00a0 It may be small, but it is almost always there.\u00a0 You need all sides of your card to speak.\u00a0 Just a word, maybe a whole thought&#8230; but it needs to speak.<\/li>\n<li>Graphic is a must &#8211; but there is a catch.\u00a0 The graphic could be designer series paper.\u00a0 The graphic could be a stamped image.\u00a0 The graphic could be words stamped multiple times.\u00a0 And, to add fun, sometimes a graphic in an unexpected place is great!\u00a0 Think about a little head peeking over the top of the long layers&#8230;\u00a0 or from behind the small layer.\u00a0 Yes, I do have that crazy-haired chick in my mind right now!<\/li>\n<li>To embellish or not to embellish&#8230; that is always an important question.\u00a0 It should come as no surprise that I tend to lean toward the no embellish side.\u00a0 I think some of the prettiest cards are the most simple.\u00a0 Two colors.\u00a0 Bold sentiment.\u00a0 Small ribbon.\u00a0 Maybe a strategically placed Rhinestone.\u00a0 It doe not take a lot to dress up a card without over doing it.
