Remarkable Ink Big Blog Hop – Sneak Peek

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web to catch a sneak peek of the new items coming out in January.  You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell.

So, I have not placed my pre-order yet.  I am waiting until the end so that I can use my Christmas bonus so I can get even more goodies!!!  That being said – all these products were ordered from the OnStage Product Purchase Premier.  This is one of the best perks of being a demonstrator!

So, here is my first project…

This uses the new Party Pandas (147218/147221) from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  That means you can get it FREE with a $50 US order.

But, you may not recognize that embossing folder I used either.  It is part of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (145656) found in the new 2018 Occasions Catalog.

Proj Sheet – Panda Hi

This card features the new Let the Good Times Roll BUNDLE!  Bundles are great because you can order the stamp set and the dies/punch and save money!  This bundle features the Let the Good Times Roll Stamp Set (145687) and the Thrill Ride Pop-Up Thinlits Dies (145650).

Proj Sheet – Good Times Roll

Wait… What?  You don’t see any dies used here?  Oh… they are on the inside!

You use the dies to great a roller coaster that pops up when you open the card!

Another perk of being a demonstrator and being able to go to OnStage – the biannual 1-3 day extravangaza hosted by Stampin UP! – is PRIZE PATROL!  The tril that you get when they call your color is like winning the lottery.  Granted, I have never played the lottery, but if I did…

Anywho… this is the set that I won!

It’s called Magical Day (145854/145857) and can be found in the Occasions Catalog.  It is part of a suite that comes with dies, designer paper, glimmer paper, and more…  But since I haven’t placed my pre-order all I had was the stamp set.  So, here is a simple yet very fun card.  What little dude in your life would love this?

Proj Sheet – Magical Wizard

And, a little bonus I CASE’d a card from someone using the mermaid from the set above.  I didn’t have the new glimmer paper, but this was from last year’s Sale-a-Bration.  I have been told that the blue match while the green used here in the old Mint Macron In-Color.  The new green is more vibrant.  But, you get the idea!

A little sponging and a little coloring with the new Blends and a few glittery circles later…

Well, that’s all from me today!  Can’t wait to hop around and see what the others bloggers have done with their creativeness!

Hop on little ones…

Until next time… Keep it simple, Stampers!

🙂  Joanne

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop – Non-Traditional Christmas

The rules are simple… Christmas projects:  NO RED / NO GREENNo shades of red / no shades of green.

But this is Christmas!  How can you do Christmas without the red and the green?  Oh my, dear one…  We are here to show you!

Truth be told, I am pretty sure that I took the easy way out this month.  I mean, after all, I picked one stamp set to showcase. Yep… just one!  You see, this month it’s all about the colors.  And, I think that this set is one that doesn’t ever need to be showcased in red and green.  In fact, I think red and green may be a bit harder to incorporate with this  one.

The stamp set I am talking about is the STAR OF LIGHT (#142110). This set has great sentiments and beautiful images.

No red or green here… Instead you will find Fresh Fig!  And of course, some silver tossed in for good measure!

Hers is a close up on that star.  The detail is dazzling!

And, did you know you can emboss ribbon?  I mean, I knew you could stamp on it… Turn it colors even… But I’ve never seen embossing on it…  But lookie there.  Of course, don’t look too close as it is not my best embossing work!

Let’s take a look at some more …

Another purple and silver.  I just love that color combination… don’t you?!?

Oh look at that!  Would you have ever thought that browns were Christmas colors?  I guess when you add copper and beautiful images, you are bound to get a great looking project!  (Truth be told, I was inspired by Carol Payne’s card!  I had a sneak peek at it a last week!)

And finally… Blue and gold.  Another one of my favorite color combinations.  I guess I spent too many years as a cub scout mom!  For the background, I started with Whisper White and embossed the stars with white embossing powder.  Then, I sponged on layers or Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, Elegant Eggplant, and Basic Black.  Then, since I didn’t have a tissue handy to wipe the ink off the embossed stars, I wiped it with a baby wipe.  Of course, that took off some of the ink… But I love the way it turned out!

Well, that’s it from me this month…Hop on over to see what Patty Chenail has to offer you!

Or, if you are going the other direction… hop back to Debbie Naylor had up her sleeve this month.

Until next time… Keep it simple, Stampers!

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Sympathy/Get Well

Welcome to the monthly Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from the United States.

This month is all about sympathy.  The projects will feature get well, sorry, and sympathy sentiments.  While these cards are not given for fun.. they are always needed and will provide a light in the darkness that someone is treading through.

Stampin’ Up offers several stamp sets that contain sentiments perfect for sending to those you love in their time of need.  Because I am bit of a strange goose, one of my favorites set is Here for You.  I love the cheeky little sentiments!

But, today, I went with one you may not think of first and one that literally screams “Sorry”.

So, first one…

I used the Silver Lining sentiment from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set to set the mood for this card.  Using the various colors of gray gives it a bit of a sad feeling, but each of the clouds have silver embossed linings!  Can you see what else I have added?  How about a closer look?

Do you see them now?  The texture on the rain drops?

SPOILER ALERT…  those are new epoxy shapes from the coming 2018 Occasions Catalog.  Are they not just the cutest things ever???  They come with two sheets containing circles and drops – one with glitter and one without!  If you need a catalog and are in the USA, just drop me a note…  🙂

And now, my other card for this hop…

This card uses the go-to Sorry for Everything stamp set.  There are so many different combinations of sorry sentiments that can be made with this set.  If you don’t already own it, you really need to!  This card features a simple black and white color scheme.  I added texture with the leaf punch… Sure hope that one carries over!  And what about that DSP?  Don’t you just love it?  It’s another SNEAK PEEK from the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

So, if you are wondering how I already have items from the new catalog that hasn’t even been released yet… it is a PERK of being a demonstrator. But, a little more than that… it is the perk of being a demonstrator that went to OnStage, our twice-a-year convention that is always tons of fun!

If you have ever thought about being a demonstrator, now if the time to join… You can add new catalog items to your starter kit beginning Dec. 1.  Just contact me and I can help you out!!!

Well, I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day – even though they were sad-reason cards! You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!”

Foiled Again!

I know, I know… I used that joke yesterday.. so how about these then…

Okay – so I may have been in a quirky mood when I created those…  But other than Snidley Whiplash and Batman & Robin…  Those are what I thought of when I started this Foil thing…

So, I am not sure if I ever mentioned how much a putter-offer I am.  I don’t really mean to procrastinate.  In fact, I don’t think you can even call it that…  It’s called busy beyond my years!  Last week was a very hectic week… leading into this week that is even worse…

After a few relaxing days in Salt Lake City attending OnStage Live, an annual Stampin’ Up fun fest that includes special demonstrations, new product make-n-takes, and the Shelli & Sara show that is open only to demonstrators, I hit the ground running back at home Monday morning.  We are gearing up for the Christmas shopping season at my part-time gig (Yankee Candle) and collection Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes at my full-time job. Toss Stamp Campo on Thursday and a small Vendor event on Saturday and it’s no wonder I was in my craft room until 1pm last night….   My crazy hectic life leaves little time for my passion.. STAMPIN’.

Needless to say, I had finished my Foil creations at 8:45pm last night for the Hop that went live at 9pm.  So, the photos weren’t great and I had some issues with uploading good photos.  Since I promised to post the projects I didn’t get on the hop…  here they are!

This fun little treat bag was created using the Mini Gift Bag Thinlits (#137547).  I added a 2″ circle of Silver Foil and some labels punched from Soft Sky along with some Soft Sky ribbon.  The sentiment is for the Merry Little Labels Stamp Set in the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  And – SPOILER ALERT – that shredded foil is actually a new product that will be available in the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

Plain and simple… that’s what this cute little gift box is.  I used the Window Box Thinlits (#142762) to make the box.  This Foil Frenzy DSP is really great for packaging because it is a little thicker than your normal DSP.  The sentiment came from the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  It nestled beautifully into the center of the bow.

And, speaking of the bow… I didn’t take any photos, but here is how I created it…

First, I wrapped ribbon around the box and secured it to itself using a couple glue dots… that way you can slide it off. Then, I created six loops from the ribbon.  It was maybe cut 2″ or so… folded like a cancer ribbon and held together with a glue dot. Next, I punched a small circle… I think it was like 1″ but can’t remember off hand.  I covered that with Fast Fuse.  I then attached the loops to the circle.

One tip I will add…  See the white circle in the bow… that is the circle that I adhered the loops too… It is just turned over.  I thought it looked better than the other side.  So, I punched a smaller circle of Soft Sky to draw in your attention.  Did it work?

And, I will just add that it is not a blurry photo!  The sentiment was stamped in Soft Sky, then I decided to do it in silver embossing, so I stamped it so that the Soft Sky would be like a shadow!

So, if you have made it this far… I have another little treat for you!

A bonus project made with some of the scraps!

This is a teeny tiny 2″ x 2″ tag made using the scrap cut from the Box Card.  The sentiment comes from the Eastern Beauty set – since it was sitting out.  And, you can’t tell, but those smaller circles are in silver… and they really aren’t full circles.  They were cut form a scrap and are maybe half circles or less.  This would be perfect to add to someone’s little thank you gift.

And, there you have it…  all my super secret Foil Frenzy projects that I couldn’t post yesterday.  If you missed the other projects…  Click the link below!

Stampers Dozen Blog Hop – Foil, Foil, Foil

Welcome to this month’s installment of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop.  Today, it’s all about the foil.

Not sure about you… But when someone mentions foil, my mind hops to images of Batman and Robin…  Walk with me there for a moment!

Did you not read that in the characters voice?  No?  It’s just me, huh!?!

Well then I guess we will move right along…

Here are my offerings for you.  I have used the Sky Blue patterns from the Foil Frenzy DSP.  I accented it with Sky Blue, Whisper White, and Basic Black Cardstock.  I also added sparkley embellishments and ribbon.

Enjoy!

Thanks for looking!  You may notice that two of the projects in the group photo are missing.  I am having a bit of technical difficulty with those photos but will post them tomorrow after the kinks are worked out… So, in the infamous words of Snidley Whiplash…

**UPDATED**  Here is the link to the page with the other two projects and a BONUS one that is not in the picture (because it was buried under the scraps!

FOILED AGAIN

Hop on along and check out Patty’s and Debbie’s foil projects!

Until next time… Keep it simple, Stamper’s!

The Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop: GIVE THANKS

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for October 2017. This month our theme is GIVE THANKS!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – JOANNE CANTRELL or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

We are quickly, more quickly than I would.like to admit, approaching the season of thanksgiving here in America.  While.we should be thankful all year long, this is the time of year where thankful essential is in the air!  And I am thankful you stopped by!

Here are my offerings for you today!

Quick and easy…  1″ strips of that lovely acorn pattern from the Painted Harvest Designer Series Paper.  Add a little copper ribbon and you’ve got a card!

This is a simple vanilla and gold card.  After I embossed the pine  planks on the card front, I gently rubbed with my versa-mark pad  and embossed with gold powder. . Added some golf foil  leaves and a gold embossed sentiment and had a finished card in not time.

This one uses the little checked pattern paper for the color inspiration.  A few Cajun Craze maple leaves on Very Vanilla cardstock.   A couple circles. Some DSP.  A few leaves punched with the great Leaf punch.  That’s all it took to create this card!

Here is a simple Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede color combo bases on the square of DSP peeking through the window.  It really shines in this design!.  And , better yes this card actually used leftovers from the next card.

And my final card for you today…  A simple but elegant pumpkin.  After I cut the pumpkin and vines using the Patterned Pumpkins Thinlits, I sponged the edges with Old Olive.  This step added texture and depth that wasn’t there before.  I pieced it back together and added it to the oval layers.  Tied a cute little bow from the burlap ribbon and I was done!

Well, that is all I have for you today!  Thank you for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many more amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog – JOANNE CANTRELL, so check the blog hop line up list below to see who is next.

Thanks for stopping by.  Now hop along, little bunny!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

Cards Sketch #9

I don’t know about you all, but I have been suffering from the dreaded sinus stuff that has been going around our town.  Truth be told, I have had something sinus-y going on since June… But it is on full strength over the past couple days.

Not feeling well on top of it being cold and rainy here… makes for a big lack of motivation.  I really just want to be hiding under my covers cuddling with my puppies binge watching something on Netflix and eating soup.

But, instead… I came up with this card sketch for you!

Now, I will tell you that when I had it in mind, I also had the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper in mind too.

And, why do I always provide two sketches?  One portrait and one landscape?  Because I think everyone sees things differently.  I always see a sketch in both directions because I never know how it may end up!

In fact, all the cards from the last blog hop that I did were inspired by sketches from My Favorite Things.

See, those are perfect examples on how a sketch can help you create the perfect cards without actually CASing someone else’s card.  It goes back to the notion of me not having an original idea since the invent of Pinterest!

So, I would love to see what you do with the sketch I posted.  I will add it to my facebook page along with the card that I create with it.

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

🙂  Joanne

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – NEW Holiday Catalog Projects!

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from the Southern Tip of Illinois, USA. I hope you enjoy some NEW Holiday Catalog projects I created just for you!

Yes folks… I know the catalog has been around for awhile but you haven’t seen everything yet.  There are some many great products in this catalog… There is no way to do everything before the season is over and we are on to the new Occasions Catalog.  I know.  It’s so sad to think about these things going away when we just met them.  But, never fear… You can still get (most) all your favorites through the end of the year!!!  But don’t wait to stock up… Get them now!

So, it seems like I am repeating myself a little because I know you’ve heard me say before that I am not a fan of cutting my Designer Series Paper…  But here I am loving it and chopping it just for you!  #loveitchopit

This card uses the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and the sentiment is from Count My Blessings.

A little silver foil and some silver embossing adds sparkle to the Snowflake Sentiment Bundle.

Every needs a little cup of coffee to cheer them up on a cold winter night.  This card uses Designer Series Paper from Be Merry (on sale thru 10/31) and Merry Little Christmas.  Merry Cafe stamps were used and cut out the the Coffee Break dies.

This card uses another great Designer Series Paper from the new Holiday Catalog – Merry Music.  Since the music showing is Deck the Halls, I just had to use the same sentiment from the Carol’s of Christmas stamp set!  (Sorry, I guess I forgot to lighten the photo… It uses black and white paper!)

And, finally…  This card uses the Christmas Quilt Suite.  I love how the green pops against the red DSP, don’t you!

I hope the projects you’ve seen here on my blog today have inspired you & brightened your day. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell. Please see the list below & hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!

#IIBH if you’re into hashtags.

Now, hop along!!!

Until next time.. keep it simple, Stampers!
