Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop – Sweet Soiree

Everything Sweet for you today… Actually, Everything Sweet Soiree!  LOL

That’s right… everything on today’s hope will be featuring products from the Sweet Soiree product suite found in the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

So, you will notice if you have read this far that there are not projects posted here.  I will tell you.. I am the Queen of Procrastination.  And, unfortately, this time, it has been the death of me…  I had planned to get the projects done the afternoon that this blog hop went live… but there was an emergency and I was called into work so that last minute evaporated.

The good new is that I will be posting projects this evening (2/15/18) to fit with this theme.  I am really sorry to disappoint all you hoppers!  But please, hop back to visit me again!

Keep a hopping little bunnies… on to Kelly Acheson’s site

RemARKably Created Blog Tour – Mix & Match

Welcome to Keep It Simple, Stampers! My name is Joanne Cantrell and I am from a tiny town in the middle of Southernmost Illinois in the middle of the United States.

Our theme for this month is Mix & Match! That means each blog you visit during this hop will feature one or more projects that will combine items from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.

So, my project features the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper (144180) from the Annual Catalog with Tutti-Frutti 6″ X 6″ Designer Series Paper (145606) and Yay You Stamp Set (145946) from the Occasions Catalog.

Don’t you just love that black and white with the pop of pink?  A simple but elegant card perfect for just about anyone in your life.

Of course, I cannot take credit for the design.  I CASE’d it from Sandra Mastello and added my own touch to it.

I did a little more mixing and matching for the embellishments…  A little bit of Black Mini Sequin Trim (144259) from the Annual Catalog and a tiny clothes pin from the Sweet Soirée Embellishment Kit (145578) found in the Occasions Catalog.

Pardon the bad stamping job… Happens to the best of us… Or me! 🙂 .  If you look really close, you can see that I added the faintest hint of Pink Pirouette leaves on the tag.

Well, that’s it from me for today!  Happy Hopping!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

🙂  Joanne

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Love Me Tender

So, apparently, I had posted a draft to the world wide web at 3am this morning.  While I had all the best intentions in the world, sometime life gets in the way!

But, what I was doing had to do with love in a different way.  I haven’t had much time in the past two weeks to get up in my craft room because we have been a host family to two great girls from South Korea… Jin and Jenny!  You see, love comes in so many different forms… I am able to show my love for Christ and fellow man by being a part of this program.  I am thankful to have the opportunities to introduce these students from Seoul to the rural American lifestyle.

This is our third time hosting students from South Korea, and the second from Deadong High School.  These girls were so fun to spend time with!

They cooked us a tradition meal of Ramen and Korean Pancakes… which they had never made before so it made it even more fun!!!

Last night, instead of creating the cards I needed to for this blog hop… I spent the day baking and cooking for over 120 people to say farewell to our new friends.

Baked Penne, Salad and bread were enjoyed by the crowd…

And then we had cake and Dippin’ Dots!

So… while I enjoyed having them here… I promise to be back on track for the next blog hop!!!

Until then… keep it simple, Stampers!

Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop – Let’s Sale-A-Brate!

Cue the confetti – it’s time for a SALE_A-BRATION!!!

It’s that time in the Stampin’ UP! year where you get to earn FREE stuff just for ordering stuff you knew you were going to get anyway!  And, who doesn’t love a little FREE stuff coming their way every now and again?  Not this gal, that’s for sure!

So, the theme of the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop for this month is all about the SALE-A-BRATION catalog.  It’s truly the best thing since sliced bread in the Stampin’ Up world right now…  and as you hop through the blogs here, you will soon see why!

In fact, I love the items in the catalog so much.. I used two of them on the card I have to show you!

First, let’s talk about the products…

I used the Lots of Lavender Photopolymer Stamp Set (147194) along with the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelopes (147242).

The stamp set is a multi-step image meaning that you stamp the outline of the flowers then you can “color” them in with the other images in the set.  And, I may add.. they definitely do not need to be stamped in LAVENDER as the name suggests.  There are tons of other colors that they would be happy being stamped in… as you will see below!

And, let’s talk about the Cards and Envelops… how great are those?  They come in four awesome colors and will coordinate with the other 46 colors in the Stampin’ UP! rainbow.

Here is how I combined the two…

A plain and simple card, perfect for any occasion.

I stamped the outline in Old Olive the leaves and stems in Pear Pizzazz, the bow in Calypso Coral, and the flowers in Daffodil Delight.  The card base is Daffodil Delight as is the scallop oval behind the image. The strip of green is Pear Pizzazz.  I added a tag stamped in Calypso Coral as well as a layer of Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral behind the sentiment that was tied on with some Linen Thread.

Oh, what the heck… here is a project sheet for it!

Proj Sheet – Lots of Yellow

You can earn one of these SALE-A-BRATION items with a $50 purchase, or get them both for a $100 purchase.

Wonder what everyone did?  Me too!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

RemARKably Created Blog Hop: Bundled Up!

Welcome to Keep It Simple, Stampers!  My name is Joanne Cantrell and I am from a tiny town in the middle of Southernmost Illinois in the middle of the United States.

Out theme for this month is BUNDLED UP!  That means each blog you visit during this hop will feature one or more of the bundles available in the new 2018 Occasions Catalog.

If you haven’t received your copy of this catalog yet, what are you waiting for?  Just email me and I will get one sent out to you!

Request a Catalog

So, my project features the FRUIT BASKET BUNDLE (145977).

This bundle includes the Fruit Basket Photopolymer Stamp Set (145833) and the adorable Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack (145657). It’s part of the Tutti Frutti product suite found on pages 28-29.

I used the stamps and the fruit slice punch to create my card.. but I also added the cutest Designer Series Paper you have ever seen.  Check it out…

It was so hard to choose which pattern to use!  But, in the end, I went with the watermelons…

Is that not just the cutest!

So, are you asking yourself where I got that card and envelope from?  It’s from the new 2018 SALE-A-BRATION catalog.  This tiny catalog is full of all sorts of FREE stuff you can earn with every $50 or $100 purchase…  So, by adding the Lemon Lime Finely Woven Ribbon to the bundle and the DSP, you have a $50 order in the US and can get the card/envelopes for FREE!

Dontcha just need them?  They are perfect to go with this suite.. but they can do more.  Come back in a couple hours and check out another card I made with using the Daffodil Delight card.

Until then, here is a close up on the fruit basket!

Those little watermelon slices were so easy to make – the stamp set comes with the three stamps: the outline, the rind, and the center.  I probably could have used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color in the seeds.. but whose got the time for that!?!

So, I stamped a couple extra slices and punched them out with the little punch.  And. I’ll give you a tip – these punches are meant for the stamps, so they cut really close and don’t leave a border – therefore, I would not have needed to stamp the outline because it was just cut off!  So, save a step!!!

Now, just because I am in a very giving mood today, the complete supply list can be found at the bottom of this post  Oh what the heck… here is a project sheet too!

Proj Sheet – Watermelons Galore

Well, that’s it from me for now… check back in a couple hours for another project with the Stamper’s Dozen Blog Hop!

Card Sketch #10

Well, it has been quite a while since I did a new card sketch.

This one was inspired by the card on page 13 of the NEW SALE-A-BRATION brochure.  It uses the Bubble & Fizzes Designer Series Paper that is only available for FREE in this brochure and only for a limited time.  It is such a fun and playful DSP.  I used it on that gift card holder that I made for Dell a few posts back.

So, with no further ado…

Think of all the wonderful cards you can make with this sketch!

I would love to see what sort of cute things you come up with using this.. please post them below so I can see!

Until next time…keep it simple, Stampers!

From Hatchling to Eagle!

Sorry for this.. but I am just going to take a second to brag on my little monkey in the middle for a moment.

You see this kid.. yes, the one right here…

Just look at that face!  How could you not love it?

Well, he did the unthinkable…  Actually it is totally thinkable but still a great achievement.

He had earned the rank of Eagle Scout!  This is the highest rank a boy can earn in the Boys Scouts of America.  It was a long road full of ups and downs and all-arounds… But this boy…

He never gave up…

He stood true…

He plugged on and put in the work…

Completed his Eagle Project…

And now, it’s time to party!!!

Okay – so, what kind of Stampin’ Up mom of an Eagle Scout would I be if I didn’t get creative with his Court of Honor invitations?  Afterall, it’s what you came here to see, right!

This is the outside.  I created a pocket card.  Printed the patches and badges onto cardstock and fussy cut them…

Ignore the error in the date… He caught it and we re-printed before we made and sent the invites.

With all this being said… I am now off to start planning the decorations and food and complete the program for the ceremony!

I can’t tell you how proud of my little Oopie Boopie!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

RemARKably Created Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop

It’s my favorite time of year… the days are getting longer…  the Christmas Carols are gone…  I have eaten the last of the cookies that are preventing me from eating healthy (no, seriously… they just sit there and yell at me until I eat them! LOL).. and, It’s time to SALE-A-BRATE!

This time of the year, it’s all about the FREE stuff.  Now, who doesn’t love getting things for free?

During SALE-A-BRATION, for every $50 you order, you can earn something for FREE… Absolutely FREE!  And, added BONUS – there are now a couple great items you can get for free with $100 order.  YAY Stampin’ UP!

But then, the question is… what do you do with it once you get it?

Hop through these blogs to see a ton of great projects made with the FREE SALE-A-BRATION items.  And, remember, these are all things you can earn for FREE with a $50 or $100 Stampin’ Up order.

For my project, I chose the BEAUTIFUL PEACOCK stamp set.  This is a lovely little set that includes a two part peacock and other leafy images.  And, even if you are not a peacock lover per se, the images in this set make a great faux DSP, don’t you think?

I layered Bermuda Bay card base with Tranquil Tide and Whisper White.  I used Bermuda Bay for the leafy images, Lemon Lime Twist for the little flowers, and Tranquil Tide for the dots.  The peacock body and plumage were stamped in Tranquil Tide, colored in with a Lemon Lime Twist marker and fussy cut.  The sentiment is in Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist!

The hardest thing about making this card was trying to stamp random leafy images… so they turned out not as random as I wanted, but still looks great, don’t you agree!

Now, hop along to see what the other Stampers have created for you using these great FREE Products!

Until next time… keep it simple, Stampers!

Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop – Fun Folds Galore!

Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell from pretty much smack dab in the middle of the United States.

This month’s theme is one of my favorites – FUN FOLDS!  Who doesn’t love a card that is a little out of the norm?  Something a little different?  Well, that’s what our blog is all about this month.  Of course, fun folds don’t just have to include cards, they can also include boxes and other fun things that are folded… hence the name 🙂

So, I know you came here looking to see what I have created for this challenge.  And, we will get to it… Just a quick explanation first.

As you may know – my oldest child is in the Navy.  He is stationed in Connecticut.  Upon talking to him a few weeks ago, he told me he would not be home for Christmas.  So, since mailing him to tons of gifts I would love to give him is sort of out of the question, we decided to do gift cards.  But, since I am a Stampin’ UP! kinda gal, just sending him an envelope full of plastic would not be enough.  So, I scoured Pinterest and found a lovely tutorial by someone who I can’t remember (nor can I find the pin… but I will and let you know whose original creation it was!)

Anywhoo….Dell came home and surprised us.  And, I hadn’t done the gift card album yet.  Then, next thing I knew, his dad was just giving him a handful of gift cards!  No card, no bag, … nothing… just a handful of cards with a “Here, Merry Christmas, Son!” Oh my…

Good thing his birthday is in a couple weeks and we plan on giving him more gift cards…  Because it gave me the opportunity to do this fun fold project!

While, it was a little tricky to figure out how to make it… Once I did, I was on a roll!!!

Here is the inside of the creation!

[metaslider id=3385]

If you are wondering where the tutorial is for this project, you will have to wait until after the first of the New Year.  It’s nearly impossible to do one on my phone and I am boycotting my office until then! But, I can tell you this does include a new bundle out of the 2018 Occasions Catalog!

Either way, I hope the project you’ve seen here on my blog today has inspired you to create your own gift card holders and brightened your day in the meantime

Again, you are currently visiting Joanne Cantrell.  Please see the list below to hop through all of the people on the list to see all our projects. You don’t want to miss any!

Here is the list our other fine bloggers… Now hop along!
